Welcome to our Monthly Product Updates Blog—your resource for the latest enhancements, integrations, and features across our product suite. Each month, we’ll share key updates and innovations designed to improve your experience and keep you informed on all things CoinDesk Data.
We've launched a significant upgrade to our Markets and Instruments endpoints, now exposing a comprehensive array of static metadata for each exchange. Available across Spot, Futures, Options, and DEX integration types, this update provides unified fields for exchange status, launch dates, supported trading types, integration status, benchmark scores, and more.
This enhancement is already powering CoinDesk exchange profiles, dynamically serving information like logos, supported trading types, and benchmark grades. It also enables programmatic discovery, allowing users to filter for active exchanges based on criteria like supported trading types and benchmark scores. Furthermore, it allows for direct access to current and historical exchange benchmark scores for market surveillance and portfolio allocation.
We have completed a comprehensive review of changing instrument names across Kraken’s spot and futures markets - that was causing some duplication of data within our systems. We migrated all historical data to be stored under kraken’s newest instrument names internally - all while ensuring our instrument mapping gave clients streamlined and accurate data representation.
Bitvavo is one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in Europe, supporting a wide range of Euro denominated trading pairs. Bitget is rapidly growing and well known for the wide range of assets it offers. Our new order book integrations are able to collect the full order book depth from both of these venues, providing L2 data in real time as well as producing our orderbook minute snapshots and metrics on depth and slippage.
Users can now commence orderbook replay streaming sessions using mapped instrument names, providing greater flexibility and ease of access to order book data. Our in-house instrument mapping system allows for easy comparison between the same instrument on different venues, so liquidity during certain market events can be compared seamlessly.
Our asset metadata product covers a vast range of static data fields related to crypto assets, formatted and presented in a manner that allows easy background research, and alignment with data provided by our other products. This month progress was made in the following areas:
