Trade Data Product Updates

New Exchange Integrations

As always, we have been striving to expand our exchange universe to cover the most significant trading venues. Newly launched exchange integrations include:

  • KuCoin - Futures Integration - We have successfully integrated KuCoin Futures, adding coverage of both their vanilla and inverse futures instrument offerings alongside our existing spot data coverage.
  • HTX (Huobipro) - Futures Integration - Added coverage of all futures offered by HTX (previously Huobipro) - consuming 3 separate data feeds to cover all instrument type combinations on offer.
  • Bit2me - Spot Integration -  A new spot exchange integration with Bit2me has been completed, furthering our spot market data coverage and using both REST and streaming APIs for extra resilience.

Other System Enhancements

‘Instrument Map Sync’ Service - Instrument map sync is a part of our infrastructure that handles changes in instrument status within our system, and then distributes this information to where it is needed.  We have improved the process used to handle the retirement of perpetual future instruments to ensure they are treated in a similar manner to spot instruments, alongside calendar future instruments which follow different logic to handle their expiration.

Order Book Data Product Updates

New Realtime Top-Of-Book Streaming

Continuing from last year's release of both our data-streamer websocket platform and our order book replay product, we are excited to launch our new realtime top-of-book streamer. The new streamer is built from the ground up within our new order book architecture, available initially across all our spot order book markets and instruments. The real-time best bid/ask subscription product offers live updates of the best bid and ask positions from supported exchanges, enabling users to monitor market dynamics as they unfold.

Exchange Integration Improvements:

We identified and made several improvements across our orderbook integrations, including the following:

  • Goroutine Leak Fix: We have addressed a goroutine leak in the websocket library observed particularly with Bitfinex, ensuring more efficient resource utilization and improved system stability.
  • WSHandler Rate Limiting Improvement: Enhancements to the WSHandler have been made to avoid rate limiting on startup, particularly benefiting BTCMarkets.

Asset Metadata Product Updates

Process for Expansion of Historical Supply Data

We continue to advance the development of a new tool designed to recover historical supply data for digital assets. Building directly from our on-chain data offering, it focuses on expanding the historical supply data we are able to offer, as well as enhancing the accuracy and integrity of supply data that we already possess.

Key Features:

  • Enables the recovery of historical supply data by identifying addresses that should be excluded from circulation (e.g., contract wallets or bridge addresses).
  • The process uses these addresses and goes over historical on-chain transactions to calculate token supply data over time.
  • Auto-Calculation Feature: Automatically calculates missing fields based on our standardised supply type definitions, such as:
  • Total Supply - Locked Supply = Circulating Supply
  • Circulating Supply + Locked Supply = Total Supply
  • Total Supply + Burned Supply = Issued Supply
  • Issued Supply - Burned Supply = Total Supply

This new process is currently in use for ETH L1 tokens, expanding the history we have access to. Work to update this process to cover more chains is continuing.

On-chain Product Updates

This month, we’ve made substantial progress expanding our suite of on-chain products:

  • Raw & Processed Arbitrum Blocks: We integrated the full history of Arbitrum blocks (290M blocks) and it’s now being processed and will be soon available on our API - Live integration is coming soon, bringing real-time DEX trades and liquidity updates.
  • Accelerating Solana Block Processing – We’re currently handling and processing 120TB+ of data across 300M+ blocks, ensuring a seamless integration for all Solana blocks - Solana data will be available very soon to support growing demand.
  • Bitcoin Block Processing Enhancements: – in February we continued working on address metadata capabilities, unlocking a wide range of new use cases for analytics and insights.

Index Product Updates

Launched CoinDesk Memecoin Index: The CoinDesk Memecoin Index (CDMEME) tracks the performance of fifty of the most liquid memecoins, weighted equally. The Index is designed to capture memecoin market exposure and volatility, acknowledging memecoins’ inherently frivolous nature and lack of utility at launch (find out more here).

Launched CoinDesk 100 Index: The CoinDesk 100 Index combines the performance of the CoinDesk 20 Index and the CoinDesk 80 Index to provide a benchmark of the broader digital asset universe (find out more here).
